Chairman R. W. Bro. Victor Tavares

Has your Lodge and/or District been engaged in succession planning? Have you developed a line of potential candidates for the office of District Deputy Grand Master and District Secretary? Are there brethren within your lodge aspiring to become a Grand Lodge officer such as the Grand Registrar or a Member of the Board? Do these brethren meet the requirements of section 50 of the Book of Constitution (BoC)?

Grand Lodge provides a couple of paths to become prepared for these roles and meet the constitutional requirements of our Grand Lodge. Set your sights and take the steps to become properly prepared. Your Lodge, District and Freemasonry in general must be engaged in mentoring and developing competent leaders in order to move our Craft forward.

(1) DDGM Fall Preparation Workshops
This document outlines the dates and locations of the fall sessions of DDGM Preparation Workshop.
This one day session is a basic foundation for aspirants for the role of District Deputy Grand Master, Grand Registrar or District Secretary. The successful completion of this course meets the requirements of subsection 50(b) of the BoC.

Note: This course is not required if the aspirant has already completed the “Past Masters’ Qualifying Course” – but it certainly is a good refresher.

(2) College of Freemasonry Enrollment form.
The College of Freemasonry’s “Past Masters’ Qualifying Course” is an excellent foundation for aspirants considering running for DDGM, Grand Registrar or the Board of General Purposes.

Note: Although the one day “DDGM Prep Workshop” meets the requirements of subsection 50(b) of the BoC for the role of DDGM and Grand Registrar, the “Past Masters’ Qualifying Course” is required to run for a position on the Board of General Purposes.
