Food Drive

Food for Life is a collaborative leader in sourcing, sorting, and sharing fresh food in Halton and Hamilton. All the food we rescue is 100% donated by grocery stores, food distributors, and local farmers. 80% of this food is fresh perishable food. We have four refrigerated trucks on the road picking up and delivering food, through our more than 80 partners to we serve over 12,700 people struggling with hunger each week. Half of the 80 partners are agencies, meaning local food banks or social service agencies with a food component in their programming. The other half are our Food for Life run programs. These weekly programs are 100% volunteer run and are open-access/barrier- free. This means there is no registration or proof of income, people can come and pick up a fresh food bag. The Food for Life programs are hyper local and can be found in churches, low-income housing units, and seniors housing. This year Food for Life is on track to distribute 4.1 million pounds of food. With a 10 full time staff we work hard to ensure no one individual goes hungry within our community.

Every $1 donated provides FOUR meals for the Community

Most needed are non perishable items – canned meat, fish, vegetables, fruits and peanut free snacks
